Digital Collections
In order to preserve to our local history and to make our collections accessible to a wider audience, we are diligently working to make our collections available online below.
To view items not yet digitized, we invite you to visit us at the StoryStudio on Cherry Street. You can learn more about visiting the archives here.
We have digitized a portion of our collections and as we do so, we add them to our collections database. To make this information more accessible, we've put our entire database online.
To search the database below, select ‘All’ in the index and enter a single search term or enter a phrase enclosed in quotation marks. We’ve also selected some stories to highlight that represent more in-depth looks at groups of items. You’ll see those titles listed in the index.
We continue to add records, both when we acquire new items and when research gives us new insights into an existing collection. Cataloging a collection is and always will be a work in progress. You may notice, for example, that many items in our database haven't been photographed yet. You may come across records with very little information, and you may even find an error, a typo, or language that we should explain further. Despite this, we’ve decided to include these records, because our goal is to make our collections as accessible as possible.
We welcome your help in improving our database. You may contact us at collections@historicredhook.org with your comments and we will work to investigate and correct any inaccuracies. We hope you enjoy exploring it!
