Edmund Bassett’s Reminiscences
Follow the footsteps of Edmund Bassett, who wrote about his memories of wandering through Red Hook in the late 19th century. Born in Red Hook in 1865, he worked for the New York Central Railroad and eventually moved to New York City, but published his memories of Red Hook in the Red Hook Advertiser, the first series in 1926 called Reminiscences of Red Hook, and the second published in 1930, called Reminiscences of Some of the Highways and ByWays of Red Hook.
